EMPLOYMENT EXCHANGE- RAYAGADA

 

 

INTRODUCTION

 

           Initially, the District employment Exchange , Rayagada was  functioning as a  Sub-Office under the administrative control of the District Employment Exchange, Koraput  and it  was upgraded to the present status of District Employment Exchange vide Labour and Employment Department Notification No. 4043/LE, dated 06.04.1993. Since than it has been  functioning as District Employment Exchange  having its jurisdiction over the entire Revenue District of Rayagada. There is one Employment Sub-Office functioning at the Revenue Sub- Divisional head quarters at Gunupur under the administrative control of the District Employment Officer, Rayagada.

 

ACTIVITIES

 

            One of the basic objectives of the National Employment Service is to promote placement activity by acting as a match making agency between the Job seekers as well as the employers. For the purpose this office Registers the names of the potential job- seekers and also sponsor their names to different employers against the notified vacancies. This activity is being regulated by enforcement of the compulsory Notification of Vacancies Act, 1959 and the ( C.N.V Rules - 1960) framed there under.

 

            The quantitative analysis of different activities relating to placement is furnished below as on 31.03.2004.

            Another important activity of this office is to collect , compile and analyze and interpret statistical and Employment Market data in the prescribed manner and furnish such data and information to the government of India at regular interval for use in man- power planning. VOCATIONAL GUIDANCE

In addition to all these, Vocational Guidance unit is also functioning in this office with a view to help our young boys and girls to solve their problems relating to planning of Careers. Other activities under Vocational Guidance programme include :

1.    To collect occupational information and dissemination of the same to the students by delivering Career Talk/    Organizing career Conference and exhibitions

2.    To suggest measures with a view to enhance the employability of the candidates.

3.    To collaborate and co-operate with the agencies in the field of guidance.

4.    To generate awareness regarding the realities of the employment market.

 

PROJECTS / SCHEMES

 

       Under the Vocational Guidance scheme 2 ( two) Model Career Corners have been set-up, one at Women's College, Rayagada and the other one at Govt. Girls High School, Rayagada since the year 1990, to equip to the students with all kinds of information about various job opportunities, professional studies and training facilities before they leave the educational institutes. The Newspapers, magazines and Career books are being supplied regularly.

ACTIVITIES PLANNED/VISION FOR THE FUTURE

 

             It has been to conduct Pre examination coaching programme in collaboration with the District Administration to prepare the students of this district for facing different competitive examinations including Defence services.
